Description of Activity

The Jesuit History Research Group (JHRG) endeavours to establish the University of Toronto as a local interdisciplinary hub for the thriving field of Jesuit studies. The pandemic motivates us to reach out regionally, nationally, and internationally
to establish ourselves as an emerging entity in the field of Jesuit studies — one of only three with an online presence. For now, it also makes in person initiatives impossible.  What makes us unique is our local focus and the various formulas we use to facilitate intellectual exchanges. We offer relatively informal round tables, talks with respondents, moderated “conversations”  and, circumstances allowing, workshops, film screenings, and field trips.
