Join CDRS for a full-day event of CRAFT! in which we explore the politics of craftwork across time and space.
11:00 to 11:45 AM (IN PERSON, DROP IN): Tour of CDRS's current exhibition, Embroidering Absence: War Memories of Salvadoran Women Refugees, with curator Prof. Maria Mendez Gutierrez.
12:00 to 1:00 PM (HYBRID): Panel Discussion, featuring Marissa Magneson (PhD Candidate, Education, York University), Prof. Maria Mendez Gutierrez (Assistant Professor, Political Science), Dr. Timothy Perry (Medieval Manuscript and Early Books Librarian, Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library). Hear them talk about Indigenous beadwork, political embroideries, and Old French weaving songs. Lunch will be provided.
1:30 to 3:30 PM (IN PERSON, LIMITED ENROLLMENT): Indigenous beading workshop with Marissa Magneson.
