JHI Marquee Event: Medieval Musical Treasures
When and Where
Description
Join us for this year's JHI Marquee Event - Medieval Musical Treasures. Immerse yourself in the magic of the Middle Ages! The Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library and The Toronto Consort join forces to present a special evening delving into Medieval manuscripts and music. The Consort will present music for voices and instruments, preserved in several key manuscripts from Cyprus, Paris, Florence and the Iberian peninsula. Spanning the 13th through the 15th centuries, this rarely heard repertoire runs the gamut from colourful splendour to intimate human emotion, with a couple of captivating stories to help while away a November evening!
