The field of Renaissance Studies has been strongly affected in recent years by the rise of global history and global approaches, many of them proposing to ‘decentre’ the Renaissance from its familiar focus on Europe. This roundtable (a joint effort between Toronto’s Centre for Renaissance and Reformation Studies and Warwick’s Centre for the Study of the Renaissance) will provide a thought-provoking range of perspectives on the strengths and weaknesses of ’the global Renaissance’. In addition to short presentations by the speakers, we look forward to hearing suggestions and comments from the audience.
